Oh, and "Save Tonight" is awesome!
ah I forgot to comment this entry yesterday - bad me!
how's your ECDL course going? :)
I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix recently too and we bought the last Harry Potter book last Saturday. Guess what? I'm all finished! It took me 2 days. *hehe*
I hope I'll be able to send your letter tomorrow. The post office here in the countryside has strange shop hours. *sigh*
mise le meas! ^_^
My course is going awesome! Guess what - we had our first module exam yesterday, got the results today, and . . . I passed with 90%!! WHOO, I say! Only two people got 100%. But I am loving every minute of it - my course-mates are fantastic! The age ranges from about 18 to 60, and I'm the second youngest in the class. We come from all walks of live and every country you could think of - Nigeria, Budapest, Russia, New Zealand, New Guinea . . . And everyone is so lovely! Plus - at the end of the course we also get work experience that, if things go well, could very well provide a permanant placement! =D I am on cloud nine here!
Ahhh, so you are a fellow Potter-fan! =D *smacks ya a high-five* What did you think of the Order of the Phoeinix's screen adaptation? I was very pleased with it - Daniel Radcliffe was on top form in this one, I think. Luna was fantastic, wasn't she? And funnily enough, when we stood in line for the book launch, we were standing next to one of her classmates from school! He was awesome, never stopped chattering all night - jeez, and I thought I was a fan of the books - and his costume was just plain FANTASTIC. *shakes fist* I KNEW I should have dressed up! It was brilliant to see all these people, of every age, race, creed, and colour, queuing up and down two streets in the middle of the night in the rain and the cold [and happily so], not for concert tickets or a celebrity - for a BOOK. What a breath of fresh air!
It took me two days as well! Actually it consumed the entire weekend of my first week starting the FAS course - Dear God in heaven it was magnificent. I cried like a baby, and I'm still devastated by Lupin and Tonks - Lupin was my favourite teacher - and FRED!! SOB!! What did you think??
Whoo, postal service was quick for a change! What a miracle! I already had letters taking a month (yeah 1 MONTH) from Vienna to someplace in Germany (and there I thought the German postal service was reliable).
Eh, don't you live at home at the moment? Did I miss something? But how cute of your mum to bring you my letter to cheer you up. I'm soo glad I succeeded in cheering you up a bit. *hihi*
*burst into laughter* *imagines ya hopping around in the street* *rofl*
ohhhhhhh how cool, seems FÁS is a little more effective with its courses than our equivalent of it, AMS. From what I hear their courses are little more than a waste of money and time.
My colleague at work took courses there in programming and I came to seriously doubt the quality of the courses after seeing his programming "crimes".
I really hope so much that your work placement will get you a permanent job. :) *keeps fingers crossed*
Congratulations on your good mark for the first module exam! *claps* Which module was it? The basic one about all that Internet stuff? When will you have your next exam?
BTW, our head of study forwarded a job offer from a large Austrian bank, RAiffeisen International, to us. In it, they offer a position as Junior E-Learning guy who has to monitor their new Learning Management System and help them develop content for it. The best thing of it would be the travels to Eastern European countries.
I think I'll apply since I bet I'd have more chances for development there and they pay better than my current company. Besides, I guess that job would mean a permanent contract with insurance and all.
Oh yeah, I am a fellow Potter-fan. *gg* I read all books!
I really liked the screen adaptation of the fifth book! I went there with two friends from Germany who were in Vienna to visit me. ^_^ Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grind were excellent. The dialogue was excellent as well (which is almost a miracle since German subs are often horrible). My favourite line was Hermione telling Ron that his "range of emotions fit on a teaspoon". *rofl*
Here in Austria it was the same. Shops were sold out on the first day the book was released (and think of that: the book's in English, the German version is not yet released!) and people queued in front of the big book stores.
Funny encounter of yours! *hehe* Although I wouldn't dress up for that. However, I must admit I did dress up for a Celtic festival in June (summer solstice). If you want, I'll mail you some of the photos I took.
Yeah, a PITY that Lupin and Fred had to die. *sniff* Why for heaven's sake? Couldn't it have been someone more unimportant!? The Weasley twins were the most amusing thing about the books with their antics. *laugh*
And Lupin...he had a lotta common sense if you ask me. Not as mean as Snape, not as crazy as Sirius (he was one of my favourites) and not as complicated as Dumbledore. ^_^
Guess what? Maybe I'm getting closer to coming to Dublin in the end of October. A friend of mine might be inclined to travel with me...I just mailed her the links to An Óige's web page (they have that offer for ~130 EUR I mentioned in my letter) and to a site for cheap flights.
The problem is that a retour flight costs ~300 EUR (with taxes and all) and that's the direct one from Vienna to Dublin. *grrr*
But I won't give up - I WANT my short vacation after my university finals!
So...gotta get back to my thesis to finish what is there to finish!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Kisses from Austria!!
